WHAT IS MEDIATION?

In short, Family Law Mediators negotiate complex legal matters to produce legally binding settlements - .

The process is substantially more effective and faster, with increased adherence to agreements.

Mediators combine specialist knowledge of law, psychology and negotiation techniques in a way that minimizes the negative emotional and financial effects of the traditional approach.

Settlements are negotiated out of court, and though no legal representation is required, parties may be assisted by legal counsel.

Why Mediation

Mediation is at least 70% less expensive than litigation, quicker and less traumatic.

  • Mediation is always voluntary for the parties and they can at any time leave the negotiations.

  • In mediation confidentiality is respected.

  • Mediator is neutral and impartial.

  • Mediator does not offer any legal advice.

  • Mediator presides over the negotiations
